Work continues Thursday on John Deere Road in Moline. Drivers will again have to deal with a lane closure.
McCarthy Improvement Company calls the process "a rolling lane closure" because a crew will install rumble strips on the shoulders of the road from just east of I-74 to east of 70th Street.
It will affect the right lanes on both sides of Johne Deere Road.
The work will begin on the eastbound side at 8:30 am. The left lane will be open, and McCarthy asks drivers to use caution and leave early because there may be delays.
Last year, the contractors and Illinois DOT worked to make sure traffic patterns were back to normal before Thanksgiving. And it's very likely that's the goal again this year.
The $51 million project widened about 2.5 miles of Deere Road from four to six lanes.
