Davenport residents and others who work in the city support a moderate level of flood protection, but not a permanent flood wall.
About 500 people responded to the city's most recent Mississippi River flood survey.
Public Works Director, Nicole Gleason, says most people would like Davenport to improve the storm sewer system.
Business owners and managers said they'd like the city to create a more permanent detour route to reach buildings during flooding. And Gleason says the business community agrees flood protection should be fair to companies located all along the city's nine miles of riverfront.
The flood study consultant, H. R. Green, will now develop specific recommendations about which projects to pursue and how much they'd cost.
And Gleason says in late July, the public will be asked a third time to give the city feedback.
