At a budget hearing tonight, Moline residents may tell the city council how it should spend their money.
Kathy Carr, Moline's Finance Director, says next year's proposed budget totals $153 million, compared to this year's $143 million.
The cost of employee pensions continues to increase. But Carr says new developments, such as Dick's Sporting Goods and Sam's Club, have brought in more sales tax revenue to pay for it.

Over the last seven to eight years, Carr says the number of people who work for the city has dropped to around 45, bringing total employment to 407.
The public hearing about Moline's 2016 budget proposal will be held at 6:45 tonight at city hall. Aldermen are expected to vote on it next week.
