Starting tomorrow, traffic on the I-280 bridge will be restricted to one lane in each direction.
Mark Brandlis the Resident Construction Engineer for the Iowa Department of Transportation for the Davenport area. He says the project also includes the interstate from the Mississippi River to just south of Highway 6 or West Kimberly Road.
Crews will also work on the ramps on the Iowa-bound side of I-280. Brandl says the project will continue all summer and fall, ending in late November.
The most recent traffic count for the I-280 bridge totalled 24,000 vehicles per day. By comparison, the count for the I-74 bridge is over 75,000.
