The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center wants to reduce waiting times for donors. The agency now offers its medical history questionnaire online.
Spokesman Kirby Winn says it's called, EarlyQ.
During busy blood drives, sometimes donors have to wait until one of the center's touchscreen devices is free.
If they can complete it ahead of time, they probably won't have to wait as long, if at all.
The pre-donation medical history screening is one of the ways the blood center ensures donating is safe for both donors and patients.
Winn emphasizes EarlyQ must be completed on the same date as the blood donation. And blood center staff are still required to review and confirm the donors' pre-donation screening before their "mini-physical" is completed.
It's best to complete the online questionnaire using a private or secure internet connection.
