Half of John Deere Road Expansion Is Complete

Tori Charnezki

Drivers can look forward to regular traffic patterns along John Deere Road. This morning, the Illinois Department of Transportation and Moline announced crews will return traffic to normal patterns Thursday night.

Ryan Hippen, an engineer with the DOT, says part of the two year construction project on Deere Road is a wall along the south side of Highway 5. It's for noise protection for homes and businesses along the route. The wall is made of concrete sections that are easy to replace. And Hippen is pleased with the natural browns and tans of the wall.

McCarthy Construction will also remove the barriers this week. Drivers will have full access to all the intersections and businesses before Thanksgiving Day.
