Marion Meginnis has won a special election for alderman in Davenport's Third Ward.
She defeated Carlton Wills with about 55 percent of the vote — receiving 402 votes compared to Wills' 336.
Meginnis is the former president and general manager of WQAD-tv in Moline.
She replaces Bill Boom, who resigned in April after he admitted lying to a grand jury last year.
