For the first time in 15 years, Scott County will have a new sheriff. Tuesday morning, Tim Lane will be sworn in after winning the election in November, and take over from Dennis Conard.
Conard is retiring after a total of 43 years in law enforcement, starting as a reserve sheriff's deputy.
Along with Lane, the swearing in ceremony will include County Auditor Roxanna Moritz who was elected for another term, and two new members of the county board - Ken Beck and Tony Knobbe. Then, the five-member board will elect a chair and vice-chair, and approve committee assignments for the coming year.
The swearing in begins at 8 am.
