First Army Gets Leaner, More Efficient

First Army's job is to help guard and reserve troops get ready for combat. But since the military drawdown from Iraq and Afghanistan, jobs have been cut, and the unit must do more with less. First Army Headquarters is located on Arsenal Island, and its commander started re-structuring last year.

On today's WVIK News Focus, Michelle O'Neill reports Lieutenant General Michael Tucker is in charge of re-structuring First Army, and he's required to maintain current capability at the same time.

Officially, Michelle's title for 28 years was WVIK News Editor. She did everything there is to do in the newsroom and whatever was needed around the radio station. She also served as Acting News Director from September 2023 - January 2024.
