Local environmentalists say clean water is the next issue Iowa needs to tackle. Saturday, the Eastern Iowa Community Colleges will host a panel discussion with leading water quality experts, at Davenport West High School.
Julie Plumer, from Eastern Iowa Community Colleges, says having clean water available is important for Iowa's future.
She says the five experts will discuss water quality issues, and answer questions. Among the speakers will be Bill Stowe, the CEO of Des Moines Water Works, and Randy Moore, President of the Iowa American Water Company.

Bill Stowe is the CEO and General Manager of Des Moines Water Works.

Plumer says the Environmental Water Summit is part of a series funded by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Over the past three years, the grant has funded environmental programs for several organizations, including the Davenport Public Library and Figge Art Museum.
Saturday, the Environmental Water Summit will be held from 1 to 3 pm in the Davenport West High School Auditorium. It is free and open to the public.
