A local hospital wants people to learn about the risks of smoking. Today, Genesis west hospital displayed a giant inflatable lung. People walked through the 12 foot tall MEGA Lung to learn about common lung problems.
Respiratory Therapist Chris Pekios says the display teaches smokers and others about how lungs work.
This is the first time Genesis has displayed the MEGA Lung, provided by the Cancer Foundation.
The hospital also offered breathing tests for long-time smokers. If it revealed a problem, Pekios says they could get a CAT scan to check for lung cancer.
