Change of Command

JMC

A retirement, and a new leader, will be celebrated on Arsenal Island today.

During a Change of Command Ceremony, hosted by The Joint Munitions Command, Brigadier General Stephen Farmen will take over from Brigadier General Kristin French.

French became commanding general of the JMC two years ago, and will officially retire from the Army today.  
Most recently Farmen served in South Korea where he was the commanding general of the 19th Sustainment Command.

The Change of Command Ceremony begins at 2 pm at Memorial Park.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
