Once again, flower baskets are lining the streets of downtown Davenport. For the past ten years, The Downtown Davenport Partnership has placed hanging flower baskets and potted plants in the area, and this year, says the project is bigger and better than before.
Mayor Frank Klipsch says when residents see the flowers each year, they know summer has started.
Ryan Jantzi, from the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce, says Green Thumbers supplied the supertunias, which are bright red flowers that can withstand high temperatures and winds.
Jantzi says the flowers will look even better once they bloom in July.
