Local officials want to know what you think about transportation in the Quad Cities area. Tomorrow, the Bi-State Regional Commission will host a Transit Summit to get suggestions from the public.
Planner Lindsay Whitson says the two-hour open house will include a formal presentation. People will participate in a map exercise where they point out areas that need transportation services and updates.
During the second exercise, people will write down suggestions about how to improve traffic congestion, bike trails, and other modes of transportation.
Input from the Transit Summit will be used for two plans--an annual transit development plan and a long range transportation plan, which is updated every five years.
The long range plan is set for 2045, but Whitson says that really isn't too far ahead when it comes to planning transportation.

The summit is for residents of Muscatine, Scott, Henry, Mercer, and Rock Island Counties.
The Bi-State Regional Commission's Transit Summit will be held tomorrow from 4 to 6 pm at the Bettendorf Public Library.
