A benefit concert for farmers will be held Wednesday night. Sponsored by John Deere, it will virtually feature several country musicians, raising money for an organization called Farm Rescue which helps farmers who're suffering from illness, injury, or natural disaster.

The Farm Must Go On benefit concert begins at 7 pm Central Time at the Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville - it'll be streamed for free on You Tube but donations are welcome. Farm Rescue uses the proceeds each year to support volunteers who provide equipment and manpower to farmers in trouble.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
