That's according to Tournament Director Andrew Lehman who hopes more people will sign up to help during tournament week in July.

So far, he says 1,300 people have registered to volunteer. "Ideally for us, I mean we can pull it off with fewer than 1,600. And then in some years we've been real close to 2,000. So we've still got a ways to go. But feel like we're in a good spot with with 48 days to go, or whatever it is to tournament week."

Lehman and his staff are recruiting veteran volunteers, and those who are new. He all the volunteers are a blessing, saying it's like a week-long family reunion.

"We hear it from the players, too. Players and agents compliment us, and the PGA Tour compliments us, all the time. They show up in town, and things are ready for them. And our folks, our volunteers have gone above and beyond. We've got folks who are already working on the golf course right now. You've got our phone folks and our electrical folks out there. Our construction build started yesterday. So we've got vendors in town now."

Volunteers do a wide variety of jobs such as park cars, drive shuttles, carry signs, manage holes, and provide information about the PGA Tour event.

The John Deere Classic will be held July 5th through the 9th at TPC Deere Run in Silvis.
