The Augustana College men's basketball team is among elite company according to Street & Smith. In the magazine's preseason top 10 poll this week, it ranked the Vikings as the ninth best Division three team in the country.
Last year, the team earned its fifth straight CCIW championship as well as its fifth straight top-five ranking from D3hoops.com. According to a press release, no other team has ever accomplished this.
Notable returning players for Augustana include All-Conference forward Pierson Wofford, along with centers Donovan Ferguson and Micah Martin.
Head Coach Grey Giovanine and the Vikings will open the season on November 9th at home against Wisconsin-Oshkosh, Street & Smith's number one Division three team in the country.
