The Clinton Lumberkings will start the new season with a new manager, nine returning players, and a few extras for fans.
Spokesman, Erik Oas, says the Midwest League team added several improvements to the 81-old-stadium, such as a ribbon board and more monitors.
After increasing over several years, Oas says attendance last year was steady at Ashford University Field.
The Lumberkings new manager is Denny Hocking. He's taking over a team that went through three managers last season. The Seattle Mariners fired Manager Pat Shine right before the all star break, and his replacement resigned after coaching 45 games.
Clinton will open the season with a two-game road trip at Kane County on Thursday and Friday. Then the Lumberkings face the Cougars again on Saturday for their home opener.
