He graduated from the college in 1951, and taught at Augustana from 1953 to 1990.
President Steve Bahls says the tall, four-sided clock really dresses up the heart of campus.
"We wanted something that looked classic, that looked like it was dripping with tradition. So if you imagine a Main Street clock in New England, it looks like that Main Street clock."
The clock is a gift from Keith and Eileen Carpenter - Chad Meyer was Eileen Carpenter's uncle.
Meyer taught speech, debate, persuasion, and theater arts at the college, and produced a weekly program for WHBF-tv called "Augustana Presents" that featured departments and activities on campus. The program ran for 35 years.
The Chad Meyer Scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior majoring in speech communication.
