Chief Financial Officer Kevin Posekany says it includes an increase in the property tax rate of about 30 cents (from $15.30 to $15.60 per $1,000 assessed value) - an increase of almost two per cent.
"An average homeowner with a 100,000 home would see a little less than a 20 dollar total increase in their tax asking - between 15 and 20 dollars.
Posekany says the district will probably cut some teaching positions due to a drop in enrollment.
"We lost about 200 students to open enrollment, and about another 50 students to lower enrollment overall."
The new budget totals 356 million dollars, an increase of about 30 million over this year thanks to federal pandemic aid and additional state aid.
Each year, Iowa school districts have to submit their budgets to the state by April 15th for the fiscal year beginning in July.
