As the 24th anniversary of her disappearance approaches, two more people have been identified as possibly being involved. It was on August 21st in 1996, that 11 year old Trudy Appleby was first reported missing from her home in Moline.
Wednesday Moline police released the names of 59 year old David Whipple and 45 year old Jamison Fisher, both from Silvis, calling them both "persons of interest."
In 2017, police said a resident of Campbell's Island, William "Ed" Smith had been seen by a witness with Appleby on the day of her disappearance. But he had died by the time that information was released.
Police now say the two new names are connected with Smith - Whipple is Smith's son-in-law and Fisher is a long-time family friend of the Smiths.
