  • Hundreds of people attended a rally in Davenport's Vander Veer Park Wednesday in response to flyers recently distributed in the area by the Neo-Nazi group, the National Alliance. The hand-outs include messages calling for an all-white society.

  • The state of Iowa has stepped in to save a Davenport cemetery with financial problems. The Iowa Insurance Division has been appointed receiver of the Fairmount Cemetery and has chose another cemetery in the city, Pine Hill, to manage it.

  • Rock Island plans to repair and maintain murals in the city. This week, the city council approved a new Public Art Maintenance Policy.

  • A nuclear power reactor in Cordova has been restored to full power following a week and a half of repairs to the unit's main power transformer.
