The East Moline Police Department has a new top officer. At last night's city council meeting, Captain John Reynolds was sworn in as the new police chief.

In September, Chief Victor Moreno announced he's leaving the position to teach at United Township High School. His last day was October 16th.

Reynolds was chosen from three candidates. He's a graduate of Alleman High School and Western Illinois University. Reynolds has spent his entire 22-year career with the East Moline Police Department, and was promoted to captain in 2008.
