Traveling to NorthPark Mall and other places in Davenport could soon be faster and easier for bus riders in the Quad Cities. Earlier this month, Davenport proposed route changes for CitiBus, and today, it'll begin asking the public for input.
In March, the city began collecting data, including passenger activity and travel times. The results showed passengers want CitiBus to offer service late at night and on Sundays.
After surveys and stakeholder evaluations, a consultant proposed restructuring the CitiBus network in the Quad Cities. The biggest change would be the addition of inter-city service, so riders can travel from Rock Island to Davenport and other cities without switching buses.
Davenport is holding a series of public meetings on the proposed changes. The first meeting is today from 4:30 to 6:30 pm, at the Ground Transportation Center. Meetings continue at locations across the Quad Cities through October 24th.
