Government Bridge will be closed to vehicle traffic on Monday from 8:30 am until 1:30 pm.
The garrison on Arsenal Island says a public works crew will remove deck plates to inspect and measure the working parts of the 121-year-old bridge. The goal is to be better prepared for emergencies.
Again, Government Bridge between downtown Davenport and the Rock Island Viaduct will be closed on Monday morning at 8:30, then re-open to cars and trucks at 1:30 pm.
