Tammy Weikert has a new part-time "job." The Rock Island County Circuit Clerk has been appointed to the Illinois Supreme Court's Commission on Access to Justice.
The Commission was created in 2012 to promote equal access to the Illinois civil courts and administrative agencies for all people, particularly the poor and vulnerable. It has 11 members who represent various parts of the legal system.
Wiekert has worked in the circuit clerk's office since 1998. She was appointed clerk by the county board in 2015, and won election to the position last fall.
She has already served on the Illinois Supreme Court's Guidance and Training sub- committee.
