This morning in Rock Island, the prosecution began presenting its case in the murder trial of Timothy McVay. The 40-year-old Rock Island man is accused of killing his former girlfriend, 29-year-old Carrie Olson of Davenport.
In his opening statement, Rock Island County State's Attorney, John McGehee, said Olson died late December 29th, 2013. And the following day, McVay is seen on an ATM video behind the wheel of her car.
McGehee also says a credit union employee will testify that Olson changed the pin number on her account ten days earlier.
The prosecution called Minnesota resident, Shaun Anselment, who - three months after she went missing - discovered Olson's body on property he owns near Hastings. As he backed out of the driveway, Anselment thought he saw a dead deer and got out of his car to check.

Prosecutors showed several pictures, including one of the naked body sprawled face-up on the ground.
Olson's father also testified today, and the defense will begin its cross examination tomorrow morning. Also, the defense will give its opening statement after the prosecution rests.
