Scott County Sheriff's Office

Members of the Scott County Sheriff's Department have started wearing new badges. They commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Sherrif's Posse, now called the Reserve.

Sheriff Dennis Conard says the badges resemble the original ones worn by the Sheriff's Posse.
Deputies and members of the reserve will wear the special badges for one year.

Conard says when they're working with the deputies, the reserve deputies have the same responsibilities --they help patrol rural Scott County and assist at events such as the air show last weekend.

The Sheriff's Reserve also assists with crowd control, traffic, warrants, and property checks, and members do carry firearms.
