Without state funding, the Galesburg School District is preparing for the worst. Wednesday night, the board of education will hold a special meeting to discuss a "Doomsday Scenario," or what will happen if the state of Illinois continues into the new fiscal year without appropriating money for k-12 education.

Superintendent Ralph Grimm says state-funded programs, like Pre-Kindergarten, may have to be eliminated.
Grimm says the board will discuss his Doomsday Scenario budget Wednesday night, and then vote on it in two weeks.

In the meantime, he urges everyone to contact their legislators to demand funding for Illinois schools.
