Completing College could be Difficult for Some Illinois Students

The largest financial assistance program for low-income college students in Illinois remains at a stand-still. After six months without a state budget, Illinois has yet to send universities over $370 million for the Monetary Award Program, or MAP Grants.

WVIK's Sarah Ritter reports most colleges have been footing the bill so far. But, soon they may stop, leaving some of Illinois' neediest students to make up the loss.
