Their second attempt to negotiate a new contract seems to have worked. On Friday Arconic and the United Steelworkers Union announced they've reached a tentative agreement.
It affects a total of 3,300 hourly workers in several states, including 1,900 at the Quad Cities plant in Riverdale, Iowa.
Originally the company and union began meeting in Pittsburgh in late April, and negotiated until May 15th when their latest contract was scheduled to expire. But after agreeing to an extension, they recessed until this week when they began meeting on Monday. The other Arconic locations are in New York, Indiana, and Tennessee.
No details have been released yet.
