Moline Mayor Wants Residents to Save More Water, Energy & Resources

Moline's mayor is asking residents to help the city win a competition called, "My Water Pledge."

This month, Mayor Sangeetha Rayapati says the city is facing off against other cities to become the most "water-wise." The city with the highest percentage of residents who take the pledge will win.

She says those who already conserve water and save energy can help by spreading the word and encouraging friends and family to participate.

The goal is to encourage more people to make long term commitments to conserve water, save energy, and reduce pollution.

This morning at Moline's water treatment plant, Kathy Wine from River Action joined the mayor and a representative from Living Lands and Waters to support My Water Pledge.
