Tuesday morning the Board of Supervisors discussed some possible projects for ARPA funds - from the American Rescue Plan Act.
Budget Director David Farmer expects the county will receive a total of 33.6 million dollars, and ten possible projects are being considered.
"We at the county are looking to make sure we utilize this money as one-time project money and not incorporate any projects that will be built into future operations budgets. We're looking at it as one-time money."
Staff and supervisors have been talking about possible projects since June, and Farmer says they want to hold a public work session next month on how to spend the ARPA money.
The money cannot be spent on pensions, for rainy day funds, or for roads. But if a storm water project requires rebuilding a road, that's allowed.
