All of QCs COVID-19 Transmission Level Is "High"

Rock Island County's COVID-19 transmission level is now "high" compared to Thursday when it was a step lower at "substantial."

COVID-19 case numbers and hospitalizations continue to increase in Rock Island County. Today (Monday), the health department reported 137 new cases since Friday. Seven more residents have been admitted to the hospital since Friday, for a total of 23. And the county's seven-day-rolling average test positivity rate is 7.1%. The Iowa Department of Public Health will issue updated coronavirus data for Scott and Dubuque counties on Thursday.

On Friday, the county health department reported 77 new cases and 16 people in the hospital with COVID-19. The state health department says Rock Island County's test positivity rate was 5.3%, slightly higher than Thursday. And the CDC says 43.1% of the population is fully vaccinated.

In Scott County, the Iowa Department of Public Health reports 24 people are hospitalized with the coronavirus infection. That's twice as many as last week. The CDC says 48.5% of the population is fully vaccinated.
