They encourage all looking for a job or those curious about trying a new career to print a resume and come out to the job fair to meet employers and experience the diverse employment opportunities Muscatine has to offer.
The job fair is free of charge and requires no prior registration. Doors will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Lindsay Trumbull, the Membership and Community Development Coordinator with the Greater Muscatine Chamber of Commerce & Industry, says, “It puts together a platform for some networking… and establishes connections that are pivotal to creating growth in our workforce here in Muscatine.”
There will be booths set up for Muscatine area schools, businesses, city departments, and staffing agencies. Some businesses attending the job fair include Muscatine Community College, Bayer, Muscatine Power and Water, Vision Center, UnityPoint Health, Sedona Staffing, the Muscatine Fire and Police Departments, and many more.
Trumbull explains that the job fair is, “...an opportunity for these individuals and these companies to showcase what they do and what they have to offer.”
The Greater Muscatine Chamber of Commerce & Industry and IowaWORKS have successfully collaborated on a job fair in the past, and are pleased with the positive response they have received thus far in preparation for the upcoming fair.
“It just seemed like all of the partners and participants were willing, and it seemed like the demand was there,” said Trumbull. “We are hopeful that we have a good turnout of job seekers that come and see what it’s all about.”
