Luana Stoltenberg after the Scott County Board of Supervisors meeting on Nov. 21st, 2022

The Scott County Auditor says that's the result in the 81st House District after a recounct conducted by a special, three-member election board.

Republican Luana Stoltenberg has won Iowa's 81st House District election. That's the result of a recount over the past week by a three-member election board in Scott County.

The process began last week with a hand recount of votes from absentee ballots cast in the northwestern Davenport district. Then the board used the county's tabulation machines to count votes cast on election day.

The results show Stoltenburg got 5,073 votes, eleven more than her Democratic opponent, Craig Cooper.

The candidate recount followed an administrative recount conducted by the auditor's office which showed Cooper with six more votes. On election night, results showed Stoltenburg won by 29 votes.
