Leisure travelers may be the reason traffic at the Quad City International Airport continues to recover. After dropping to just 2,700 total passengers in April, it's increased steadily, and reached 22,000 in July.
Traffic dropped 10 per cent at the Quad City Airport in June, continuing a trend that began in January. All four airlines carried fewer people last month, and only one reports a small increase since the beginning of the year.
Direct flights between the Quad Cities and Washington D.C. will end Wednesday. Quad City Airport spokeswoman, Cathie Rochau, says the last flight from D.C. will arrive Tuesday night, and the final return flight is set for Wednesday morning.
