For the sixth month in a row, unemployment has fallen in the Quad Cities. New figures from the Illinois Department of Employment Security show the jobless rate here fell from 6.7 per cent in August of last year, to 6.2 per cent last month.

Blankets will be available this winter for the homeless and other people in need. Today, Moline Township began distributing heavy duty wool, biodegradable blankets to groups in the Quad Cities.

For the past 14 years, the township has received these blankets from the Department of Defense. Supervisor, Don Johnston, says this year it received 1,200--that's 300 more than last year. He says the number changes every year.
