Kamala Harris says the economy needs to work for everyone, not just wealthy Americans. That was just one of the topics covered Monday when Harris visited Davenport's RiverCenter for a campaign rally. It was the final stop of her five-day river-to-river bus tour across Iowa.

300 students and environmentalists will be in Davenport this week, to talk about climate change, flooding issues, and alternative transportation. Tomorrow is the first day of the 7th annual Upper Mississippi River Conference.

North American Strongman

North America's strongest men and women will carry farm equipment and sand bags in the Quad Cities this weekend. Tomorrow and Saturday, Davenport is hosting the North American Strongman National Championships for the first time.

Over 200 athletes will be competing for the title, and a spot at the World Championships next spring. There will be three events on Friday, including the Log Clean and Press competition and the Farmers Challenge.

United Way of the Quad Cities

Nearly 3,000 volunteers will read to children and clean up neighborhoods in the Quad Cities tomorrow. It's the 11th annual Day of Caring, and the beginning of this year's fundraising campaign for United Way of the Quad Cities.
