Anderson 400 Certification Team

Hundreds of acres near the Quad Cities, and overlooking the Mississippi River, are now ready for development. Wednesday Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds toured the property and officially added the Anderson Green Business Park to the state's list of "certified sites."

Olathea Golf Course

Some land in eastern Scott County may soon be converted from a golf course into new homes. Thursday night the board of supervisors will hold a public hearing on plans for the Olathea Golf Course, along Highway 67 between LeClaire and Princeton.

A well-known investor is going to buy a major stake in Pilot Flying J truck stops and will become a majority owner within about five years. Warren Buffet's company, Berkshire Hathaway, says it will buy 38 percent of the company, and that stake will rise to 80 percent in 2023. 

The president's tax returns will be the focus of a march in northern Illinois this weekend. Members of a new citizens group called Voices from the Prairie have chosen the traditional tax deadline day, April 15th, for their event in Princeton.

Backers of Amtrak and passenger rail service in Illinois are worried the state's serious financial problems will lead to service reductions. So today, members of the Midwest High Speed Rail Association held a news conference in Springfield to warn of possible cuts.
