The pandemic has taken a bite out of sales and profits for John Deere. Friday it reported sales in the second quarter dropped 18 per cent compared to the same quarter last year, and net income fell 41 per cent.

John Deere will report results for its second quarter on Friday, and analysts are mostly optimistic. As reported by Yahoo Finance, they predict revenue will climb 4.5 per cent from the same quarter last year, to $10.1 billion.  And that earnings per share will jump 15 per cent to $3.61.

Thanks to a strong second quarter, Deere and Company has raised its outlook for the year. Friday the company reported earnings rose to $802 million or $2.49 per share, compared to $1.56 a year ago.
