Some people who live near I-74 and 7th Avenue are having trouble sleeping because of work on the bridge project.

Michelle O'Neill has more on the source of the late night noise and when it'll end.

A very visible step in the multi-year project to build a new I-74 Bridge is scheduled to start later this week. Beginning Thursday night, through Monday in Moline, crews will "remove" the Iowa-bound I-74 viaduct.

Municipal elections will be held in Illinois Tuesday. Voters will elect aldermen and school board members, plus decide some tax questions.

Residents and business owners can help plan the future of one of Moline's busiest streets. Wednesday night the city will hold an open house to look at possible future plans for the Avenue of the Cities.

Student achievement will be the top priority for the new superintendent of the Moline Schools. That's what Doctor Rachel Savage told reporters Monday ahead of a meet-and-greet event for the community - she'll officially take over in July after Lanty McGuire retires.

In one month, income taxes are due, but there's a free program to help get them done. Volunteers with the United Way and VITA are helping people with their tax returns at several locations in the Quad Cities. VITA stands for "Volunteer Income Tax Assistance." / I-74 River Bridge

A lot more traffic changes will be implemented as work continues on the new I-74 Mississippi River Bridge. Project managers want drivers to prepare for the existing Iowa-bound bridge to be restricted to just one lane of local traffic. Or to avoid it altogether.
