A new agreement will make it easier for community college students in eastern Iowa to continue their studies at a four-year institution. Tuesday Augustana College and the Eastern Iowa Community Colleges introduced "Augustana Next."

Augustana Provost Wendy Hilton-Morrow says when students apply to the community colleges, they can also apply to Augustana.

Higher education will continue in eastern Iowa this fall with a mix of in-person and virtual classes. Michelle O'Neill reports. 


When the Eastern Iowa Community Colleges open for the fall semester, they'll offer a combination of traditional and online classes. 

Tuition Increase for EICC

The cost to attend the Eastern Iowa Community Colleges will go up, starting in the fall.  Monday night, trustees approved raising tuition for in-state students.

Students attending the Eastern Iowa Community Colleges will switch to online classes, after a longer-than-usual spring break. Thursday it announced next week's spring break will be extended by two days, through Tuesday March 24th, then classes will resume the following day, but online.

Joining a national organization may help students taking cyber security classes at the Eastern Iowa Community Colleges. It's the first college in Iowa and Illinois to partner with the National Cybersecurity Training and Education Center.

A national training site owned by the Eastern Iowa Community Colleges has moved to the campus of Scott Community College in Bettendorf. Tuesday officials of the college district celebrated the new location for their Environmental Health and Safety training facility.

The state of Iowa wants to help train community college students for careers that are in high demand. Governor Kim Reynolds has just signed a funding bill for the Future Ready Iowa Last-Dollar Scholarship program.

Students at the Eastern Iowa Community Colleges now have a new option for completing a four year degree. Tuesday the community college district announced a new partnership with Bellevue University, in Nebraska.

QC Colleges

A second group of college graduates is now featured on local billboards, showing how higher education has improved their lives. It's part of an effort launched last summer called "QC Colleges, Raising the QC by 4,171 Degrees."
