This is the final weekend the Channel Cat Water Taxi will run on its regular schedule for the season.

Tomorrow through Monday, MetroLINK's boats will take passengers on Mississippi River trips from 9:00 am until 7:30 pm.

Now that the Mississippi River is finally back below flood stage, the Channel Cat Water Taxi has officially launched its new season.

The Channel Cat Water Taxi will carry its last passengers of the year, this weekend. Operated by MetroLINK, the Channel Cat has carried nearly 44,000 people since Memorial Day.

I-74 Bridge Construction Re-Routes Channel Cat

Beginning Monday, the Channel Cat Water Taxi will travel along a new route to accommodate construction of the I-74 bridge.

The season ends this weekend for the Channel Cat Water Taxi. It will make its final trips across the Mississippi River on Saturday and Sunday. 

Hours for the final weekend will be 11 am until 6 pm.

Riders on the Channel Cat will notice some major changes this summer. The water taxi operated by Metro Link will begin its 22nd season Friday, and offer a new phone app to buy tickets, and in July a new "home port" will open, just upstream from the current dock in Moline.

Channel Cat Water Taxi

A new project in Moline will result in improvements to a popular bike path along the Mississippi River. The city and MetroLINK have entered an agreement to build a new ferry boat terminal and dock for the Channel Cat Water Taxi, at Ben Butterworth Parkway on River Drive.
