Two new names have been added into the list of candidates for Rock Island County State's Attorney.

Esther for Congress

For her first campaign for public office, an attorney from East Moline is aiming high. Wednesday  Republican Esther Joy King announced she's running for Congress, from Illinois' 17th District.

Health care, income inequality, and unions were just some of the topics Vermont U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders discussed at a Quad Cities town hall meeting on Monday morning. The event was held at the Davenport Public Library.

Kamala Harris says the economy needs to work for everyone, not just wealthy Americans. That was just one of the topics covered Monday when Harris visited Davenport's RiverCenter for a campaign rally. It was the final stop of her five-day river-to-river bus tour across Iowa.

It looks like there'll be a re-match in northwestern Illinois next year for a seat in the state house. On Wednesday, Democrat Joan Padilla from Sterling announced her candidacy in the 71st District to run again against Republican Tony McCombie from Savanna.

Three Democratic presidential candidates spoke at a forum in Bettendorf Tuesday. The Des Moines Register and the AARP hosted Kamala Harris, Julian Castro, and Kirsten Gillibrand at the Quad Cities Waterfront Convention Center.

UPDATE: The event has been relocated to the Quad Cities Waterfront Convention Center in Bettendorf.
