Yang Talks to Veterans

The US could, and should, take much better care of our veterans, but instead spends billions of dollars on corporate bailouts. That was the message Wednesday from Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang at an American Legion Hall in Davenport.

Ron Stradt for State's Attorney

Another candidate has entered the already crowded race for Rock Island County State's Attorney. Ron Stradt of Moline has joined three other Democrats, and two Republicans, competing for their party's nomination in the March primary election.

Matson Wins in Davenport

7th Ward Alderman Mike Matson has won the race for mayor of Davenport. Un-official results from Tuesday’s election show he beat 5th Ward Alderman Rita Rawson 59 to 40 per cent.

Municipal elections in Iowa are one day away, and the "WhereUVote" mobile app is here to help. The app assists voters in finding their polling locations and can also provide sample ballots to look over before going to the polls.

Polls will be open in Scott County, and across Iowa Tuesday, for the combined city and school elections. For the first time, board of education candidates will be on the same ballot with mayors, city councils, and park boards - previously school board elections were  held separately, in September.

Davenport's Next Mayor: Matson or Rawson?

Two candidates are in the race to become the next mayor of Davenport. 7th Ward Alderman Mike Matson and 5th Ward Alderwoman Rita Rawson are running to replace Mayor Frank Klipsch, who has served since 2016 and is not seeking reelection.
