To show his support for the arts, and federal funding for them, Dave Loebsack stopped in Davenport today. The 2nd District Congressman from Iowa City toured the Figge Art Museum, and three exhibits that received federal support.He says the National Endowment for the Arts is a favorite target in Congress.

Support for the exhibits came directly from the NEA or from other federal agencies to state and local organizations, and then to the museum.

Daytrotter Art Exhibit

Johnnie Cluney - Daytrotter

Since it started 9 years ago, the Quad Cities-based music site Daytrotter has recorded more than 5,000 musicians and bands. And Davenport artist Johnnie Cluney has drawn a picture of each one. Friday (3/6) a selection of his drawings goes on display at Rozz Tox in Rock Island.

Illinois Hist. Preservation Agency

Sites in Morrison and Fulton are among the newest additions to the National Register of Historic Places. Today the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency announced 23 buildings, districts, and archaeological sites have been added to the National Register, that's administered by the National Park Service.
