A current and former East Moline police officer have been honored for their bravery. On Wednesday Officer Logan Wolfe and former officer Ryan Clark received the Illinois Law Enforcement Medal of Honor at a ceremony in Springfield.

On May 25th, 2019, after a traffic stop, the driver got out of his car and fired a handgun at the two officers. They returned fire, injuring Darold Strunk, and arrested him.

Strunk is now serving 15 years in prison for aggravated discharge of a firearm at a police officer.

The Medal of Honor is presented to "law enforcement officers who have been killed or seriously injured in the line of duty or who have displayed exceptional bravery or heroism while performing their duties."
