Volunteers Offer Flood Relief

Southern Baptist Convention Disaster Relief logo

Volunteers are coming to the Quad Cities to help homeowners recover from the flood. Various teams from the Southern Baptist Convention are scheduled to arrive Wednesday.

Spokesman and Site Commander Harold Booze says everyone involved is doing this charitable work on their own dime.

"We literally go all over the nation in times of hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, fires, any of those things. We train our people, we are all volunteers, and we do this at our own expense."

Starting Wednesday through July 21st, the volunteers are coming from all around the Midwest to help out.

"We have various teams coming really from all over. We're going to have people from Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Kentucky."

To request assistance, any resident of the Quad Cities that has been hurt by the flood is encouraged to call 217-622-5101 or email SBDRhelps@gmail.com.
