UNI Beats Bradley, Takes on Southern IL Tomorrow

This afternoon at the Missouri Valley Conference women's basketball tournament, the top seed struggled to win its first game at the iWireless Center in Moline.
The Northern Iowa Panthers trailed Bradley in the first half, but beat the Braves, 46 to 45.

Loressia Frazier reports the teams treated a good-sized crowd to a competitive, defensive contest.

With two minutes remaining, Northern Iowa led by one point after making 14 free throws in the 2nd half.

At halftime, Coach Tanya Warren says she told her players to attack offensively and pick up more points in the paint.
One of the fans in the crowd was Joe Taylor from the Quad Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau. He says the tournament's estimated economic impact is around one million dollars and he's thrilled that all the new visitors seem to love the Quad Cities.
